Young and old will come together for an intergenerational activity.
Participants of the Lamond Afternoon Access and the senior programs will create holiday-themed crafts together.
Youth will use various arts and crafts materials to create original ornaments and decorations.
Afternoon Access students and Young Ladies on the Rise will make holiday cards and put them on display at the center and enjoy a holiday party.
The staff at the Guy Mason Recreation Center will provide a fabulous lunch for seniors in the spirit of the holidays. This is for seniors registered in the center's senior programs.
Each senior will receive a small present.
Participants in the Afternoon Access Program will perform a holiday play for their parents and the community. Dinner will be served.
Hearst Recreation Center presents a dinner theater, “The Polar Express“ play at Stoddert Recreation Center on Tuesday December 17, 2013, at 5:30pm-8pm. The play is about a little boy who did not believe in Christmas.
Dinner will be served. All are welcome.
Santa will give gifts and take photos with the youth that participate in programs at Stead Recreation Center.
From Monday, December 9 through Friday, January 3 DPR will accept permit applications.
Applications received during the permit window are reviewed and applicants are notified of their permit status during the 'notification period'.
DPR will handle all late permit requests for fields and gyms in the order they are received.
Late permit requests will not be processed until after all on time permit requests, submitted during the permit window, are complete.

Come out and join Mayor Vincent C. Gray, Councilmember Yvette Alexander, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), the DC Department of General Services (DGS) and the Hillcrest community as we cut the ribbon on the newest Play DC playground in Ward 7.
The Hillcrest playground encourages the community to engage in environmental awareness and encourages physical activity. By combining "Green" components with "activity-based" features, the Hillcrest community will enjoy this play space for years to come.
