Mayoral Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for the Hillcrest Recreation Center Playground

Come out and join Mayor Vincent C. Gray, Councilmember Yvette Alexander, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), the DC Department of General Services (DGS) and the Hillcrest community as we cut the ribbon on the newest Play DC playground in Ward 7.

The Hillcrest playground encourages the community to engage in environmental awareness and encourages physical activity.  By combining "Green" components with "activity-based" features, the Hillcrest community will enjoy this play space for years to come.

DPR is currently reviewing the agency's fee structure and regulations.  This series of community meetings will offer the public an opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed changes.  DPR will solicit opinions, suggestions and comments on the current fee structure.  The key topics of the fee structure include: changing from a flat rate to hourly rate system, a new "fee-based use" permit for permit holders who charge their participants and priority of use.

Come out and find out more about DPR's program for young men ages, 8 - 16, in Ward 5.  Learn about upcoming events and activities & hear from guest speakers.  Giveaways and light refreshments will be included.  All members of DPR's Boys to Men program should attend.
