Registration Closes for DPR Fun Day (September)

Registration closes today, Thursday, September 29 at 12 noon for the September 30 DPR Fun Day.

DPR offers three Fun Days at 12 select DPR locations during the 2016/2017 school year, when DC Public Schools (DCPS) conducts full-day closures for Professional Development Days.  A single-day program offering fun and enriching activities (such as sports activities, arts and crafts, and more) for children, Fun Day is offered for youth ages 6–12 years old. Fun Day Camp is free, however registration is required.

8th Annual Ward 8 Breast Cancer Walk: Reflections of Pink

Join the Bald Eagle/Barry Farm staff and Ward 8 at the "8th Annual Ward 8 Breast Cancer Walk: Reflections of Pink" event as we celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness month this October.    

All participants are asked to register in advance. On the "day of" the event, check in/late registration begins at 8:30 am and the walk will begin at 9:30 am at the Barry Farm Recreation Center (1230 Sumner Road, SE).

(Washington, DC) - The DC Department of Parks and Recreation will host the Eighth Annual DPR Doggie Day Swim on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 12 pm to 4 pm at DPR's Upshur Main & Kiddie Pool (4300 Arkansas Avenue, NW); Francis Pool (25th & N Street, NW); and Randall Pool (South Capitol and I Sts., SW).

DPR's 8th Annual Doggie Day Swim

Following the end of the summer pool season, this annual event will provide dogs with the opportunity to swim and play games in three of DC's pools.
 
Sites hosting this year's Doggie Day Swim are as follows: 
  • Upshur Pool - 4300 Arkansas Avenue, NW
    Space is limited to 75 dogs in the pool area at one time.
     
  • Francis Pool - 25th & N Street, NW
    Space is limited to 150 dogs in the pool area at one time.
     
  • Randall Pool - South Capitol & I Streets, SW

Family Fun Day - Walter Pierce Park

Please join the DC Department of General Services (DGS), the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), and the DC Fire Emergency & Medical Services (FEMS) for a day of fun at Walter Pierce Park.
