"Are you a Swimjitsu Master?!?" Come out on Saturday, May 21 for an annual nationwide event presented by DPR, USA Swimming and the North American Sports Group. The District is one of 14 cities hosting this one-day, one of a kind event.

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) announced it will host its final DPR Fun Day for the 2015-2016 school year, when DC Public Schools (DCPS) is closed. DPR Fun Day is a free, single-day program that offers fun and enriching activities (such as sports and athletics, arts and crafts and more) for children between the ages 6 and 12 years old. DPR Fun Day will incorporate DPR’s “Move, Grow and Be Green” initiative, as DPR continues to plant the seeds of personal development and environmental responsibility.
This event will give children the ability to show personality and style through clothing. Children will be able to bring outfits for different scenes; this will help children with self-esteem and confidence.
Join Rock Creek Conservancy for our 8th Annual Rock Creek Extreme Cleanup. Volunteers will clean-up the lands, banks, tributaries, and waters of Rock Creek. A discussion on the problem that migratory birds face from glass and buildings and an explanation of how home owners and building managers can help to mitigate the problem. We will also explain how the public can get involved in our citizen science program that rescues injured and dead birds.
