The City Wildlife presentation introduces a general audience to urban wildlife and the challenges they face in the city. We will focus on the work of the center and our two outreach programs, Lights Out DC and Duck Watch. Participants will engage in an interactive segment about when to help animals that may need human intervention. Come and learn more about living side by side with our wild neighbors!

Join Rock Creek Conservancy for our 8th Annual Rock Creek Extreme Cleanup. Volunteers will clean-up the lands, banks, tributaries, and waters of Rock Creek throughout Maryland and D.C. Our goal is total stream cleanup of Rock Creek and its tributaries, the parks connected to Rock Creek, and the neighborhoods near Rock Creek where trash originates. We work closely with the National Park Service and Montgomery County Parks.

On the first Friday of each month beginning in May, DPR will showcase various instructor led fitness activities with funky music, healthy food and fun.
Bring your work out gear and train with DPR for FREE in all 8 wards.
Activities will include: zumba, bootcamp, yoga, tai-chi or water aerobics; activities for children; healthy food options; cooking demonstrations; giveaways; and live radio station broadcast.
Senior Fun Camp (last week in August) is about getting away and having fun. Activities include dance and exercise, arts and crafts, fishing, games and entertainment. The Senior Services and Recreational Services staff also have the following activities such as meditation on the water, learning how to prepare healthy meals, learning how to check your own blood pressure and learning how to control/manage your diabetes.

Seniors within the District of Columbia will enjoy a lovely fresh buffet style lunch, various musical games, and a variety of live music entertainment while cruising down the Potomac River.

The 2016 Senior Fest scheduled for Thursday, June 23rd has been postponed due to inclement weather. The new rain date is Thursday, June 30th at Oxon Run Park.
The Senior Fest is an annual FREE event celebrating DC's seniors. Participants will enjoy socializing with each other as they experience live entertainment, music, health exhibits, board games and guest speakers. Lunch will be provided.
This event will take place, rain or shine.

Worms are some of the most important creatures in the garden and since they are hidden underground, they can be easy to forget. Worms are the recyclers of the earth and work to turn old food and plants into new healthy soil. Come learn about all the hard working, wiggly creatures underneath our feet and explore worm composting for the afternoon with City Blossoms.
