DPR Learning Hubs

Starting October 13th, to support students' continued learning during this difficult time, Mayor Muriel Bowser has launched Learning Hubs for DC students with support from DPR and DCPL.

Learning Hubs provide families in the District with safe spaces for their children to engage in supervised independent activities. These spaces will provide students with access to internet (and devices in some locations), and offer recommended independent activities based on age group and host site. This Learning Hub will serve students who are rising Kindergarten through 5th graders, ages 6-12.

DPR Learning Hubs will operate out of the following locations.

Arthur Capper Recreation Center
1000 5th St SE
Monday - Friday - 8:30am - 3:30pm

Barry Farm Recreation Center
1230 Sumner Rd SE
Monday - Friday - 8:30am - 3:30pm

Deanwood Community Center
1350 49th St NE
Monday - Friday - 8:30am - 3:30pm

Families can sign up today!

Advanced safety and mitigation measures will be in place at all locations to keep our Learning Hub participants and staff safe. Drop off and pick up will occur outside of the facility and building access will be restricted. Staff will wear face coverings at all times, and participants will be required to wear face masks when medically and developmentally appropriate.

Student participants will be seated at least 6 ft apart from each other during structured activities. Additionally, there will be no more than 10 people in each group. Enhanced cleaning of the building will occur between sessions.

Registration for weekly cohorts will open every Monday at 9:00 AM for the next week. To sign up, please click here. Spaces are extremely limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
