Francis Field Master Plan

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) in partnership with the community, is updating the master plan for Francis Field, located at 25th and N Streets, NW.

DPR presented two master plan concepts (Schemes A and B, available below) to the community in November 2008, and accepted public comment through November 21, 2008.

After receiving community input, DPR has come to a preferred master plan concept and DPR presented the preferred master plan concept, Scheme C, at the December 17, 2008, ANC meeting.

Features of the preferred master plan concept include:

  • Streetscape improvements to include a larger pedestrian area
  • One 58 x 100 yards multi-purpose athletic field
  • Open space that could be used for free play or dog park
  • Two pedestrian entrances along 25th Street, NW
