WASHINGTON, DC – Due to the Annual Caribbean Carnival held on Georgia Avenue, NE the Banneker Recreation Center will be closed on Saturday, June 25, 2011. The pool will reopen on Sunday, June 26, 2011 and the recreation center will open during normal operating hours on Monday, June 27, 2011.

District residents and guests may use the Harry Thomas Pool located at 1743 Lincoln Road, NE or Upshur Pool located at 4300 Arkansas Avenue, NW during the closure. DC outdoor pools are also open on weekends from 12:00pm - 6:00pm and weekdays from 1:00pm - 8:00pm. For more information please visit the DPR website, DPR.DC.GOV.
