(WASHINGTON, DC) - On Sunday, September 30, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Mayor Bowser’s DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) will again partner with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) to provide activities for the Fiesta DC Festival, an annual event highlighting the Latino culture.

2018 marks the second year DPR has collaborated with USTA - Mid Atlantic to provide an innovative way to expose residents and guest to the game of tennis while enjoying this exciting cultural event. Tennis will be the only athletic sport offered at Fiesta DC and there will be three tennis courts including youth courts. Tennis experts and pros will be on hand to direct light instruction and heavy amounts of fun for attendees of all ages.

DPR provides ample opportunities to grow the game of tennis from Tiny Tot Tennis to Tennis Under the Lights. This year, DPR’s Southeast Tennis and Learning Center (SETLC), in partnership with the Recreation Wish List Committee (RWLC), founded by Cora Masters Barry, was awarded a USTA Outstanding Facility of the Year Award for its focus on tennis, education programming and facility design.

Fiesta DC Latino Festival has been held each year in Washington, DC for 46 years. It is a celebration of Latino culture that features a Parade of Nations that displays and preserves the Native Latino cultural dance troupes as well as contemporary local groups from civic organizations, schools, and performers. The Parade of nations will take place Saturday, September 29th, on Constitution Avenue. Fiesta DC 2018 will host a variety of entities that will provide educational and community information to the event attendees.

You can find the DPR and USTA tennis exhibitions Sunday at the Fiesta DC Festival at 10th & Constitution Ave., NW from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
