DPR Hosts 2018-2019 Co-op Play Program Open Houses

(Washington, DC) - The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DCDPR) Kids, Camps and Co-op Division announced the 2018-2019 Cooperative Play Program Open House Week will be held on Monday, February 26 – Friday, March 2, 2018 for current and prospective families. The Co-op Play Program advances youth development using outcome based programming and developmentally appropriate practices in a creative and recreational play environment.

The Co-op Play Program will operate from Tuesday, September 4, 2018 - Friday, May 24, 2019; and will be offered for children between the ages of 18 months to 4 years old. The program runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

The 2018-2019 Open Houses will be held on Monday, February 26th – Friday, March 2nd from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Please note, Open Houses are for adult visitors only (PLEASE DO NOT BRING CHILDREN) and visits are limited to 20 minutes per person per site. Parents are invited to drop-in at one, or all, of the Open Houses on the days listed below.

  • Columbia Heights Community Center (1480 Girard Street, NW) - Butterflies | ages 2½-4 years old

Tuesday, February 27th

  • Mitchell Park Recreation Center (1801 23rd Street, NW) | ages 2½-4 years old
  • Rose Park Recreation Center (2609 Dumbarton St, NW) | ages 18 - 29 months
  • Volta Park Recreation Center (1555 34th St NW) – Bunnies | ages 18 - 29 months
  • Volta Park Recreation Center (1555 34th St NW) – Rabbits | ages 2½-4 years old

Wednesday, February 28th

  • Chevy Chase Community Center (5601 Connecticut Avenue, NW) | ages 2½-4 years old

Registration for Co-op Play Program will take place in our NEW system on Monday, April 9th at 12pm for D.C. Residents and Monday, April 23rd at 12pm for Non D.C. Residents.
