(Washington, DC) - The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) has temporarily closed Ferebee-Hope Recreation Center and Aquatic Facility (3999 8th Street, SE) due to a police incident in the area.  Everyone at the recreation center is safe, parents have been contacted to pick up their children and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is continuting to conduct their investigation in the area. 

The center will be closed for the remainder of today and is scheduled to re-open tomorrow, Thursday, January 16, 2014.
