(Washington, DC) – The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) has designated Friday (#FitDC Friday) nights in December to give a free sample of three unique and cutting-edge aquatic programs. Hydro Spin, Aqua Board Workout, and Aqua Pole Dancing get residents in the water for an evening of fun while providing a full-body workout they will not forget.

“We strive to offer new and diverse ways to help create a more fit DC,” explained M. Themba Masimini, Deputy Director of Recreation Services. “These events will serve to showcase otherwise paid courses to highlight how DPR is moving bodies forward with new ways to exercise.”

Hydro Spin was the featured class on December 8th at Deanwood Recreation Center and December 15th at Barry Farm Recreation Center. The classes were well received introducing a new audience to DPR's programs and facilities.

Next up is Aqua Board Workout, Friday December 22nd, which combines yoga and high intensity interval training performed atop a specially-designed board in the water. Our final Fit DC Friday will be Aqua Pole Dancing on December 29th.

Remaining #FITDC Fridays:

Friday December 22, 2017 – Aqua Board Workout – Takoma Recreation Center at 6 p.m.

Friday December 29, 2017 – Aqua Pole Dancing - Turkey Thicket Recreation Center at 6 p.m.
