The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) supports competitive swimming year-round through two competitive youth swim teams and one competitive swim training for seniors.
DC Wave Swim Team
The DC Department of Parks and Recreation "DC Wave" swim team is the District of Columbia’s only nationally competitive public youth swim team for advanced level swimmers ages 5-18 years old. Visit DC Wave swim team for more information.
DC Summer Swim League (DCSSL)
DPR's DC Summer Swim League (DCSSL) is DPR's free competitive summer swim league, with teams located across all 8 wards, for youth ages 14 and under. Visit DC Summer Swim League (DCSSL) for more information.
Senior Competitive Swim Training
The DC Department of Parks and Recreation provides training for seniors ages 55 and older interested in competitive swimming. Through this training, seniors will learn the proper techniques of DC Senior Games competitive swimming with an emphasis on safety. The athletes perform at their own level.
