About Programs

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation is proud to offer District residents hundreds of free programs for recreational purposes. No matter what your interests are, DPR likely has an activity, class, sports league, or social network that will allow you to connect with your neighbors and enhance your day-to-day life. And, best of all, most of DPR's great programs are free for DC residents.

1. Visit our Registration Portal
2. Select an age group
3. Browse location and program type
4. Select a program, add to cart, and proceed to checkout

Program Season Registration Dates:

  • Spring Season: 
    • Aquatics programs registration: March 12, 2024
    • All other programs registration: March 13, 2024
  • Summer Season:
    • Aquatics programs registration: May 14, 2024
    • All other programs registration: May 15, 2024
  • Fall Season:
    • Aquatics programs registration: August 13, 2024
    • All other programs registration: August 14, 2024
       
  • School Year: August 14, 2024
  • Year Round: August 14, 2024
     
  • Winter Season: 
    • MOST aquatics programs registration: November 6, 2024 (NOTE: Bodywise and YMCA aquatics programs open on November 12, 2024)
    • All other programs registration: November 7, 2024
 
Unique Registration Dates:
  • Tackle Football: Last Monday in February
  • Summer Camps: March 2023
  • Cooperative Play: Second Monday in April - registration now open!
  • Cheerleading: Second Monday in July
 
Reduced Rate for fee-based programs
DPR provides a reduced rate on fee-based programs based on income for qualifying families. You must be approved by DPR to receive the reduced rate before you can register for programs. Details on the reduced rate and a link to the reduced rate form can be found here. 
 
Refund Requests 
If you have paid for a program and are no longer able or willing to participate, you may request a refund. Please note that refund requests must be received prior to the start of the program, and certain programs may require refund requests to be received by a specific date. You can submit your refund request here.
