Please join us for our second meeting on the upcoming renovations to the play space at Columbia Heights. Representatives from DPR and DGS will be on hand to collect community input about the existing site and gather priorities for the new play space. Staff members will also answer questions that you might have about this exciting project.

The concept for Douglass’ play space centers on the historic abolitionist Frederick Douglass’ life. The memorial groves represent 3 of the phases and locations of Mr. Douglass’ life.

The playground design centers on two themes, a "mini-village" theme and a "transportation" theme, with trains, boats, mountains, cars and other modes of "transportation-themed play" equipment.

Sherwood Recreation Center will host an award ceremony for the coaches and youth who participated in DPR’s Winter Youth Basketball League.

The Teen Office will take teen participants from the eight wards on a social outing to a showing of one of the latest movie. Participation in this activity is through site based teen groups.
