(Washington, DC) - The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) invites the community to Raymond Recreation Center (3725 10th Street, NW) for the Citywide Cheer and Dance Showcase on Saturday, March 18th, from 10:30 am to 12 pm. The showcase will highlight participants’ dexterity development, flexibility, coordination and stunt technique.
DPR’s Sports, Health and Fitness Division will host a Citywide Cheer and Dance Showcase for program participants to perform and exhibit their growth in technique for family and friends.

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is excited to announce the 2017 Summer Camps season as we prepare for another great summer of swimming, field trips, creative activities, and new experiences in the District of Columbia. The 2017 Summer Camp season will offer five sessions from June 19 through August 18, 2017.
DPR is excited to host the 31st Annual Black History Invitational Swim Meet on February 17 - 19, 2017. This unique event was co-founded in 1987 by the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) and the United Black Fund, Inc. (UBF) in honor of Black History Month. These two organizations have worked together every year since to produce the first swim meet in the nation to celebrate this important month that higlights the contributions of African Americans to US society.

DPR registration for the 2017 Spring programs will begin on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 6 am. From sports programs such as swimming, soccer, and tennis; to fitness programs such as water aerobics and Zumba; to educational programs such as gardening, DPR offers a variety of programs for all ages to play, learn, or experience leisure activities!!

To celebrate Black History Month, Madame Tussauds DC and the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) are partnering to bring Black History Month to life! Madame Tussauds will be showcasing prominent African American figures including Frederick Douglass, Marion Barry, Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, Malcolm X, and Muhammad Ali at the Kennedy Recreation Center, located conveniently at 1401 7th Street, NW in downtown DC.
