Pool Rules and Safety
The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) operates indoor pools year-round. Outdoor pools and spray parks are open across the District for the summer. DPR wants to remind all adults, children, youth, and families that your safety is our number one priority. And because of that, it is vital that all pool patrons respect the authority of lifeguards, pool staff, and DPR aquatics rules and policies at all times.

Fort Circle Series
DPR has created a series of caches to bring attention to the Fort Circle Parks that it manages. It follows part of the chain of forts which guarded bridges, Capitol Hill, and naval installations from likely enemy approaches through southern Maryland. The historic features are collectively known as the Civil War Defenses of Washington, or the "Fort Circle Parks." The areas in and around many of these forts are also significant in African American history, as many freed slaves moved there before and during the Civil War.
