Intro to Agroforestry - Deanwood Recreation Center
Agroforestry is the intentional intercropping of perennial plants (such as trees and shrubs) with annual food crops and/or animals. Agroforestry is based on principles that have been traditionally practiced since the dawn of agriculture and are still widely practiced by smallholder farmers around the world. This class will cover the traditional applications of agroforestry as well as how these principles are being scientifically augmented and their application potential around the DC region.
